The Babylon 5 spin off Crusade ran for 13 episodes. The finale aired on September 1, 1999. The episode took place on May, 2267. The episode marked the last time Richard Biggs would appear as Dr. Stephen Franklin. The episode was directed by Babylon 5 alum Stephen Furst (Vir Cotto). I love love LOVE Lochley’s intervention with Garibaldi.

She knows he doesn’t like her and won’t react well. She doesn’t even like him that much. But she cares about him enough to help because she’s been there.

And as if that weren’t enough, Lochley spoofs a message to Lise telling her to come to Babylon 5 because “I [Garibaldi] need you.”

In a small but important detail, in their next scene in Lochley’s office, she’s calling him “Michael.” I have a feeling they stayed on good terms after that.

Lochley gets dragged a lot in the B5 fandom but this is her finest hour. It says so much and I wish we’d had more time with her.

If not for all that Z’Ha.Dum business, John and Anna would probably have stayed married. I HATED the Sheridan/Lochley thing though. It didn’t add anything to the show.

Lise’s first husband ran off on her if I recall? And Bill Edgars died, but I’m not sure if Lise would have stuck around after finding out exactly what his company was up to.

I think Michael and Lise were destined for each other and they just took awhile to get that through their thick skulls 😂❤️ Someday I’ll write my essay about how they are B5’s underrated love story.

It's always a bit of a tough ask to introduce a new major character toward the end of a show's run, but I actually kind of love Captain Elizabeth Lochley. Her role is basically to be the hardass who walks in and says "what the fuck is wrong with you people? Why are you always throwing punches and ignoring regulations? Why is everyone trying to kill everyone else? Why does every thing that could possibly go wrong do so every day without fail?" And yeah. She's right and should say it. As Sheridan says, she's annoyingly logical. She's actually pretty funny.

Best Babylon 5 Character Contest

Title is pretty self-explanatory. Who is the best (or at least your favourite) Babylon 5 character?

I didn't want to leave anyone out because all the characters add something vital to the story, so there will be 32 options, half of which I'll post today and the other half tomorrow. The winners will go on to the next round, and so on till we get down to the final two characters and can crown the ultimate victor.
